1 Corinthians 11 - Who’s Our Covering

Psalm 91:4 says, “He shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge, His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”

In life, there will definitely come times when you need to run for cover. Life is very unpredictable in the sense that it can be overwhelming at times. Today’s teaching details the purpose of covering. God established a way of living that gives us the benefit and blessing of a covering. The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

This method of accountability establishes the reality of what needs to be passed on to each of us to be successful in following God’s will. God has a perfect will and way to live a blessed life as we follow all He has given to Christ to pass on to the husband, then to the wife in families.

The overcoming spiritual Christian life is one of being led by the Holy Spirit, so we are given direction on how to live. If we aren’t following Jesus’ ways as men, we are leaving the covering God has given us in Christ and putting our wives and families in jeopardy. Without following Christ, we will surely become confused and run into needless heartaches.

God loves us and has an order established that He wants us to follow. He always knows what is best for all of us. May we be accountable to His established order.
