Acts 3-4 - Preaching In a Pagan World
The world today is becoming more hostile and close-minded to the Gospel of Jesus Christ – not unlike the perspective of the Roman Empire in the days of the Early Church. The Apostles found very quickly after Pentecost that in spite of the many thousands coming to faith in Christ, there was an ever-increasing opposition to the Good News. Being threatened, silenced, and persecuted was the normal environment the Church did its work. Today, Christians are seen as troublemakers to Godless ideologies and plans to dismantle the belief in Christ as Savior and Lord. In Acts today, we see what it was like preaching in a city that was anti-Christian and how the Apostles were still effective in spite of the pushback.
