The beginning of why we celebrate December 25th as Christians is rooted in the most amazing event in human history. When God became man, taught in Luke 1:26-38. Each year the church around the world that believe in the Incarnation proclaims that Christ is true God of true God; of one essence with the Father. Meaning that God became one of us at birth so He could one day save us from our sin. The miracle announced to Mary was that as a virgin she would give birth to God in His humanity. This would be accomplished without the seed of fallen man but be done by the God The Holy Spirit coming upon Mary. The Virgin birth is critical because Christ was born without sin that He would one day redeem man from the power of sin. Only God could die for us that we might be set free from sin and death. The Miracle of Christmas is Immanuel God with us.
