Apocalypses or Revelation: means the unveiling, revealing, or uncovering. The book of Revelation is written by the apostle John, but Jesus Christ is both the Revelator and the Revealed. Jesus gives His servant, John, a command to write the things he sees, the things that are, and the things that will take place after this. John begins this book by edifying believers and encouraging us in the deity of Jesus Christ, reminding us of our new position in Christ Jesus, which we have through being washed in His blood, and reassuring us of the imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
