Paul deals with a couple of doctrinal statements in this portion of scripture. He covers the first and second coming of Jesus Christ, the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in Salvation, and our hope of eternal life. Paul teaches that these benefits of the believer are all the work of God’s grace through His Son Jesus Christ. As a result of these blessings, we should maintain good works – the evidence to believers of our changed lives in Christ Jesus.
